Cowboy Football, September 25, 2005

What an emotional time the Cowboys sent us through on Sunday afternoon. After playing a terrible first half and getting behind 15 points, they came back to win the game with a Bledsoe to Keyshawn pass with less than 2 minutes left in the game. As far as the game, the offense looked great (except for the interception return touchdown) and the defense looked terrible, especially in the first half. Parcells would not admit it, but I think Dallas was down after Monday night's loss. The defense missed many tackles. There was no pass rush, and they were getting beat in the secondary. Our new prize cornerback, Anthony Henry, played a terrible game. However, as bad as the defense was, the passing offense was terrific. Bledsoe was very sharp the whole game, except for the noted interception. And, Keyshawn and Whitten played great. The rushing game was not great, but got some yardage when needed. Over all, as we have talked earlier, this is going to be a roller coaster year for the boys. Unfortunately, Oakland is downhill from San Francisco. They play the winless raiders next Sunday.

Cowboy Football, September 19, 2005

I am writing late Monday night with a very very sad heart. The Cowboy defense played a near perfect game up until the last four minites of the game with Washington. They then gave up two long touchdown passes to Santana Moss to lose the game. The deep coverage was not there. Roy Williams was to supply this on at least one of the touchdowns. Aaron Glenn was beaten on both touchdowns. Also, the offense failed to get points early in the game when the opportunity was there. Cortez missed a very makeable field goal in the first quarter. Dallas' offense was also very conservative for most of the game and I think that obviously hurt them by not being able to put more points on the board. Drew Bledsoe and Terry Glenn both played good games, but Julius Jones struggled running the ball. Overall, most Cowboy fans now wish they were in Japan. This was not a game for the faint-hearted. Hopefully, the game with San Francisco next week will be better. Even in my now current low state, I do think the boys are quite a bit better than last year.
